Test My Limits

I’ve been on a bit of a naughty kick because of a certain someone *cough cough – Livvy* and MadPea’s Club Tenebris currently out at Red Light District literally came just in time. When I saw this set, I knew I had to do something with it. How could I pass up an opportunity to do a kinky picture, especially if she is the inspiration and main motivator for the pictures I create? MadPea’s Club Tenebris was the perfect scene for this sexy set up, showing two sides – domination and submission.

By the way, I’ve been hunting for good tufted wall panels that would give my “red” Master room more depth. I am so particular of what goes in that room and MadPea’s Tenebris Play Wall is absolutely perfect! My requirements were diamond velvety tufted wall panels in red with the contrast of the metal subtly locking the cushions in place. MadPea got this spot on and I am so happy to use this in my Master room.

Other items in the Tenebris set is the Tenebris couch comes with plenty of singles and couples adult animations. There’s also a texture change menu to choose between black or red. The Tenebris Cage looks fantastic with four single sit animations for the submissive. The Tenebris Wall Ring, which comes in the Full Pack) gives cuff props to the submissive and has three single restrained animations. The Tenebris Dance Pole also comes in the Full Pack and has 19 pole dance animations.

The Forgotten Dead’s Playground

MadPea released a unique, rundown playground for the March 2018 round of The Imaginarium, perfect for decorating those post-apocalyptic or wasteland scenes. I couldn’t resist a little fun and introduced a bit of dead into the playground too. Sometimes, there’s more to just wandering around aimlessly and eating brains for these zombies.

MadPea Forgotten Playground | Mine & Yours

There are 18 commons and 2 rares in the set. If you play MadPea’s The Forgotten Playground machine 20 times, then you’ll get the Gift of Imagination (GOI) item as well! Remember, once The Imaginarium event is over, this gift will be retired! Most of the items in this set is animated of some sort, making it a fun interactive set for more than just one person.

The Bouncy Castle RARE makes you bounce as soon as you get inside it, allowing you to move any which way you want in the bouncy space. In order for this awesome bounce house to work, you’ll need to make sure push is enabled on the land and that the bounce house is owned by the same owner of the land (or deeded to the land group).

The Rocket Slide (GOI) is animated upon sitting on the object, playing a sequence of your avatar climbing up the ladder and then sliding down. You can even bring up a menu to allow adjusting for your avatar’s height. The seesaw is cute, having animations for for both female and male sits, and automatically moving up and down once a single avatar is seated. The Merry-Go-Round spins and allows up to 4 avatars to sit on this item with four different animations to toggle through by clicking “swap”. The Swing Carousel spins as well and can seat up to 8 avatars with two different animations to choose from.

Konekowatch Road Rage

We’re all mad here, right? Especially with MadPea’s Road Rage gacha set for Remnant Dark Days that features a grungy-style bumper car arena that really makes for some crazy fun. Just a lil fun pic I did to showcase what a madhouse this ride can be, just like how a normal game of Overwatch tends to be for me – insane. These cute Overwatch-inspired kittens from Cubic Cherry were the purrfect (cute) drivers for this crazy ride.

Let me tell ya – I get road rage while I am driving, and I swear California is full of idiots who do not know how to drive properly. Sometimes I just wish we all drove bumper cars in RL so I can purposefully ram slow ass drivers and idiot drivers off the road to get to my destination! I digress (totally had to vent there). MadPea’s Road Rage, let’s just consider this set such a therapeutic session in SL that is not only fun but gives us all a great excuse to let out some RAGE! AHHHHHHSAKSKJSJAKFKSAKL!!!!

Konekowatch Road Rage | Mine & Yours

MadPea’s Road Rage gacha set includes 23 commons, 1 rare, and 1 Ultra rare (the bumper car arena). The Ultra Rare is the one you really want because the bumper cars actually communicate with the arena to create a carnival-style ride experience that lasts for 90 seconds each ride. Bumper cars automatically pair with the Arena when rezzed within the space. Once the ride starts, a chain at the entrance of the arena appears to keep the space safely enclosed. Once the ride ends, the chain will disappear.

While most some items in the Road Rage gacha set is just decor, there are some pieces in the set that are scripted to enhance your bumper car experience.

In each bumper car prize, there is a prop version with animations and a rideable version. Bumper cars do not require the arena to operate. However, the Ultrarare Arena requires the rideable bumper cars to properly function cohesively in a system.

There are flood lights that you can turn on/off. The Mounted Traffic Light and Portable Traffic Light have a menu to change the sequence of the lights that flash. The traffic lights also function with the Arena ride when it starts and ends.

The loudspeaker can randomly announce custom messages into local chat. Inside of the Loudspeaker is a notecard that has three lines you can put your own messages in. Each line is a different message that will be broadcast in local chat. The default time is set to 10 minutes, but can be changed via the notecard.

The Road Rage official sign can be turned on and off. While on, the sign is scripted to mock a ‘glitching’ experience by buzzing and sporadically flashing off and on.

The Rare Monster Mascot is a beast and looks pretty gnarly in the bumper car arena. You can click the hood to open and close it, and as you do so, it growls at you. You can also click to turn the headlights on and off.

Admittedly, I am a fellow MadPea fan who just recently started getting into these interactive games last year, so my MadPea game repertoire is not as vast as many other MadPea fans. I’ve completed four games so far: Sinister Slaughters, The Tower, Seven, and now Nightmare in New Orleans (NiNO). Despite the limited MadPea gaming exposure, I am an active gamer both in video games and board games so I’ll be discussing MadPea’s Nightmare in New Orleans based on my own personal tastes and perspective. My rating is completely my own opinion and will be different from everyone else’s.

Rating System

Visuals      9/10
Sound design      8/10
Misc. (loading screens, environmental lighting, etc)      2/5

MadPea’s Nightmare in New Orleans is a visual treat. Like all the other MadPea games I have played, the adventure takes you into MadPea’s meticulously created world – this time, to the culturally rich city of New Orleans. Last time I visited NOLA was summer of 2014 where heat is no joke, the alcohol flows, the food is fresh and spicy, and the city is full of life. Art at every corner, people dancing in the streets, music in the air, so I was extremely excited for MadPea’s take on such a soulful destination in SL. Nightmare in New Orleans sends you to a handful of diverse locations within the city and each location is amazingly decorated. The space is large enough for exploration (some are massive plots!!) with relevant, high quality decor. I absolutely loved drinking in the scenery and exploring the area, finding great angles to take a snapshot.

Let’s talk about the sounds for this game – I AM IN LOVE! As soon as I heard the voices from these characters MadPea created with animated avatars, my heart just warmed and swelled with such happiness. Yes, yes, yes! The voices were so good! Voice acting is often overlooked in a lot of games and I am just so completely happy that MadPea found talent amidst the SL community. These actors/actresses really made the game characters come to life with not only depth in the voice, but such great flow and idiosyncrasies in speech patterns. Each character spoke only a few lines, but I craved more! I even clicked on characters from a distance away (when I played a second time) because I was too eager to hear the voices again, only to be greeted with the following: “Sally Dupre: I can’t hear you from there, don’t be afraid and come a little closer.” Aw dang it, the game didn’t have Sally voice that line and I was saddened. Sally, I just want to hear another line with that sultry, smooth voice of yours. One more line, please!!!

Big shout out to Dextrum Boucher, Divinity Matova, Laetitia Vella, Sassy Nitely, and Veruca Beck for their amazing voiceovers!

Anyway, as you can see, I am a huge fan of the voice acting in this game. Some other things I would have liked to see more is maybe a little bit of the city itself. Perhaps a scene outside the club in the back alley where players can hear the whines of trumpets and saxophones off in the distance. Or maybe a scene in the iconic French Quarter, just to be further immersed in the actual city of New Orleans. Each scene in the game felt so isolated from one another because they were all so different. A common city scene would have tied this all together a little bit more meaningfully to remind the players that yes, even though New Orleans is so diverse where every corner can be a completely different aspect of the city, it is still one big location.

Creativity/Originality      9/10
Story      8/10

I am probably biased because I just love New Orleans, but this game left me completely happy upon completion that I may be rating each category higher than I usually would. I don’t even know if it is possible to not be creative with anything inspired by New Orleans. That being said, I really loved how NiNO’s gameplay flowed from one scene to the next. The diversity of scenes were greatly appreciated and the gameplay itself was very fun.

Livvy and I played the game together and our favorite scene was the bayou – hands down. It tied in my most fav kind of game play – hunt and prey. I had a lot of fun running around the gorgeous bayou, trying to seek out game clues while shooting zombies in the process. Livvy did not have a weapon (she lost her knife in the struggle with an alligator!) while I had a shot gun (a perk you can play for in Madpea’s Mama Mojo’s Bayou Bargains gacha). She would run around, finding clues while I distracted the aggro’d zombies and snakes that were guarding the area. My favorite part is when as soon as Livvy finds the clue, she zips away, waving “Bai babyyyy! I don’t got a weapon so I runnin’ awaaaay!” and leaves me to deal with the enemies I am trying to eliminate.

The storyline was intriguing (but then again, I don’t know if it is possible to be uninteresting when inspired by New Orleans!) and I loved meeting each character as well as completing some of their missions. The best part in terms of story was the possibility of multiple endings. For NiNO, there were two different possible endings, depending on the way you would play the game. I love that aspect as it creates another opportunity of multiple rounds of gameplay as well as figuring out how to unlock the alternate ending.

Compelling      7/10
Variety      9/10

My favorite objectives are the explore/search ones where I have to hunt down specific items. There were a few of those in this game and I LOVED it! In fact, right off the bat, you as the player are kind of plopped into the game without much to go off on, so you have to figure out a way to advance to the next step. The logic was solid in how to search for clues, and what I loved most was that clues for a single mission may not necessarily be in that mission’s location. I love, love, love that previous scenes are also possible places to find clues because the places are worth revisiting with how detailed and beautifully decorated they are! There was a particular puzzle in the cathedral’s private office that I did not know what the relevance of it was to the theme of the game. It felt a little out of place, though it was fun to complete it.

Interactive      8/10
Interface      4/5

I love that MadPea took the time to make character avatars that interact with the player via menu options like a lot of story driven games we see now. Though most interactions lead to the same end result, I’d like to see more opportunities for more endings. When I was a kid, I was addicted to those Choose Your Own Adventure games, discovering what actions lead to what sort of ending. Those were always fun for me to figure out.

It is also worth noting here that the combat portion of the bayou was my favorite part! I had a blast doing that scene and because the zombies/enemies are aggro-based, not just aimlessly wandering around as easy targets, it made the gameplay a lot more enjoyable.

The interface of the game HUD was good – I have no complaints about it. Design was sleek and minimal in that the buttons were collapsible and the overall function of the HUD was intuitive. Great visual design of the HUD as well. Loved the design of the Juju coin. Really wish players got a Juju coin souvenir. In fact, I think MadPea should start one of those destination/attraction coin collection souvenirs as a rezzable prize for each game completion.

Peripherals & Prizes
Outfit/Accessories      3/5
Prizes     4/5

There were two optional outfits players could purchase – 1 for females and 1 for males. The female outfit (50’s style colorful dress) looked cute! The one for male (formal suit) wasn’t my style as it looked a bit clunky on me. The optional game accessories (enhancers) from the Mama Mojo Bayou Bargains gacha set are pretty neat trinkets. Some items are great voodoo souvenirs while other items (such as the shotgun) can give a nice advantage in the combat part of the game. Another cool enhancer is the rare Swamp boat that gives you the license to drive a boat on the actual game’s bayou swamp!

The prizes at the completion of the game are quite cool (for someone like me who likes to decorate scenes). MadPea got some amazing creators to contribute to the awards. If you are interested in seeing all the prizes for MadPea’s NiNO, check it out here.

Overall Game Difficulty      3/5

Medium difficulty. I completed all puzzles on my own except for the last puzzle which are my least favorite kinds of puzzles. I am sure others can look at it and solve it easily in a few minutes, but I was working on that thing for a while and really did not have the patience to figure it out. Thank goodness for the help of that Juju coin though.

Overall Rating       8.5/10

I had a lot of fun playing MadPea’s Nightmare in New Orleans. I know my allocated points actually add up to 8/10, but I felt that because I really did enjoy playing the game, I would bump it up a bit, especially with the awesome visual and sound designs. A game really well made with fun and challenging objectives with great visual scenes and talented voice acting – I definitely recommend this game to everyone!

This game is especially good for:
Explorers/Adventurers (curiosity is your weapon)
Challengers/Completionists (Just beat the game)
Strategists (advanced thinkers who maximize profit and minimize loss)
Creators (collect resources and build your objective)
Socializers (lots of player interaction and engagement)

The Hybrid Theory of Y2K

Music has been a huge impact on my life since I was a child and when I saw that these MadPea CDs (from their MadPea Y2K Game gacha set at Rewind) each had their own original music or voiceover clips, I greedily had to get my hands on them and play them all! With these CDs (10 total) working like they do in RL by popping them into the portable CD player as well as the disc tray of the computer, both items played the sound clips. Personally, I love the portable CD player because it functions exactly like my first CD player I ever had! You pop open the CD player, insert the CD into it, close the lid and hit play, watching the disc spin round and round through the window of the CD player as it reads the disc.

MadPea Y2K Retro | Mine & Yours

FYI – The MadPea Y2K Game gacha has a little surprise interactive activity if you collect all the CDs and use them in the computer (Rare). You also get an achievement from it for those completionist MadPea fans!

The MadPea Y2K Game gacha consists of 26 Common and 1 Rare items in this set. Only part of the set is shown above in my blog picture. Not shown are the full set of 10 playable CDs with original music and voiceovers, 3 different colored portable CD players, 3 different colored headsets, and 4 different colored desk lamps. Also, the modem plays the oh-so-nostalgic dial-up tone we all know and love when we all connected to the internet to chat on AIM, check our emails, or download music. It is amazing how much technology has changed through the years.

Special shout out to the real life talent of the following people who made the variety of CDs possible!

MADCHAT – Fears, Fetishes and Fantasies

MadPea has recently released a new product line – MADCHAT, an ice breaker type conversation starter social game that you can play with friends or loved ones. Each MADCHAT pack features 150 questions for $L175 whereas other question packs I have seen only hold 50 questions for $L200.

As of today, January 31st, 2018, there are three different themed packs to MADCHAT: Fears, Fetishes and Fantasies (my favorite so far), Have You Ever…, and Step Back in Time (FREE!). Step Back in Time is actually a group gift with no cost for membership. Free game? Hell yeah! There’s no reason not to grab yourself a copy at the MadPea Main Store now. While you are there, you can see the other themed packs on display and test them out too.

MADCHAT | Mine & Yours

Livvy and I love question packs like these. Sometimes we would find a place to cuddle and pull out a question pack and just take turns answering the questions to learn more about one another. Only thing is, we’ve pretty much gone through them all the ones we have! However, now to expand to our collection, MadPea’s new MADCHAT will give us plenty of new questions to go through! (And I also suspect more will come later to broaden the MADCHAT product line.)

Our favorite MADCHAT pack so far is the Fears, Fetishes and Fantasies. Let me put a disclaimer now and say these questions from MadPea are BOLD! A lot more pointed than than the generic crowd appeaser questions we are used to, and I like it. Definitely an adults only pack, FFF asks questions I’d never think (or dare) to ask. Some examples are:

Have you ever fantasized about fucking one of your teachers?
Do you ever mentally strip strangers just for kicks?
Have you ever watched another couple get it on without them knowing?
Does pain turn you on?
How would you dominate your boss sexually if given the chance?
Have you ever woken up humping your pillow?
Do you believe people can be cured of phobias by hypnosis?

MADCHAT closeup | Mine & Yours

I want to go a little more in depth about MADCHAT, in general:

(Pro) Awesome Deal/More Content: Again, each of the currently available three themed pack contains 150 questions. So that is 450 new questions to go through! I’d have to buy 9 other kinds of question packs at $L1800 to equal the 3 MADCHAT packs for $L350 (1 pack free). The MADCHAT box looks nice too, coming in at only 1LI. It sort of reminds me of the Cards Against Humanity packaging. Very sleek and minimalistic, yet MADCHAT is a blast to have honest, blunt conversations with others. These questions are more for adults. I would not recommend for younger audiences.

(Pro) Copy: Because the product is copy, you won’t have to worry about only having one version out at a time. So if you left your pack at home, you can’t just re-rez another copy elsewhere.

(Con) Opportunity for Improvement: The downside to MADCHAT’s script of randomly reading lines from the question notecard is you can easily get repeat questions in a single sitting session. Therefore, the scripting of MADCHAT is not really geared towards Q&A bingers. But then again, sitting through 150 questions is actually quite a lot so I don’t really see the random questions with possible repeats to be that much of an issue. It would be annoying for those who do want to get through all 150 questions though. Maybe in the future, MadPea can implement a feature so that when the first time the game is rezzed, MADCHAT can be played in random mode or sequential mode. Or, more easily, just two product objects for rezzing, one featuring random play, the other sequential play.

Overall, I am quite happy that MadPea is diving in deeper with their question packs that inspire more interesting conversations. Most of these questions are not very generic. They are like the finer detail things people usually don’t talk about because most don’t think to mention is. In that sense, I really like MADCHAT and will definitely be going through each pack with Livvy. Get yours here now!

Manners Maketh Man

I log into Second Life and my fiancée goes, “Why are you dressed like Clark Kent?” Mind you, the previous day I was getting my outfit ready for this Kingsman inspired post and I was shocked that Livvy’s first thought was Clark Kent! I gasp and reply back with bewilderment (and a little offended that my outfit was not obvious enough), “What?! I am dressed like a Kingsman!” “A what?” she questions, clearly having lived under a rock for several years. My brows flatline and I just stare at her. “You’ve not seen Kingsman?!” I thought everyone has seen it! It’s the hip modern version of James Bond! But you, my wonderful readers, surely have seen the movie, yes? Nod yes and everything will be okay.

MadPea made this awesome iSpy gacha set for Man Cave and the -first- thing I thought was Kingsman. So, of course I had to go with the inspiration, right? The set pays homage to the more classic spy whose kit is more low-tech yet cleverly lethal, which is why I immediately thought Kingsman/James Bond.

There are 18 Common and 2 Rare items in the MadPea iSpy gacha set. This set also includes a fun little puzzle that, when solved, gives a special prize and brand new achievement!

There are quite a few wearable and animated prizes that will definitely be a fun surprise for any aspiring agent such as the 15py handgun, blade cane, grappling hook, poison pen, and jet pack!

The 15py handgun comes in black, silver, or steel and fires shots! Just attach the handgun to your avatar and enter mouselook. Click to shoot and a bang of light fires from the weapon.

The blade cane is actually my favorite. Sleek and stealthy, this cane has two animations cycle through while standing with the cane. Then, for some fun action, click on the cane for an epic battle pose animation which will deploy the blade at the end of the cane!

The grappling hook is pretty neat and functions similarly to any other weapon. Attach to your avi, go into mouselook, and click to shoot out a hook!

The poison pen is rather cool. When clicked, the pen activates a poison cloud, perfect for those sticky situations for a lethal ambush with an innocuous looking writing utensil. I keep this in my pocket at all times.

The Jet Pack will raise your avatar and lower it by using PgUp and PgDown, respectively. When pressing PgUp, the Jet Pack turns on, allowing you to fly all around with unlimited fuel! Then when pressing PgDown, you’ll lower until you hit the ground and the Jet Pack will automatically turn off.

She said “Yes!”

Originally written by Caleb… but commandeered by Livvy (green text)

As soon as 2018 came, I asked Livvy to marry me (finally). Being the clever boyfriend that I am, I made her think we’d be spending our New Year’s together very casually (but also cozily in each other’s arms), just enjoying each other’s company as the clock strikes 12. Being that we were online most of New Year’s Eve together, I literally had to set up my proposal scene right in front of her. Thank goodness for AFK time!  (Livvy here: Yes finally … I have been waiting for this slow day to finally come to a head and happen.  But only because I love him so much, and I feel like queen of the world when he is with me.  Mind you this is our 2nd time dating.  Time was not a good factor on our side and we have grown and learned so much to finally come back to this day and be so incredibly happy!)

My plan was to have our own fireworks display on our land, which is something we normally do anyway like on the 4th of July. So, again, totally inconspicuous. But what she did not know was, I planned to have my proposal show up written like fireworks in the middle of the lit sky when I was setting off in world fireworks.  (Ohh this is story to be told!)

Throughout the day, I distracted her with shopping adventures and a total season of Stranger Things. I had never seen Stranger Things on Netflix yet and after the first few episodes, I loved it. So we binge watched the entire season that night lol, which worked great with my planned proposal because Livvy would not think anything of it. We were comfy in our sweats, cuddling in front of our camp fire, Netflixing and actually ‘chilling’ like normal people.  (Mind you his Christmas present to me was the gorgeous dress I am wearing below, and it threw me off that I was not to wear this for my Happy New Year fireworks! This made me very curious as to what was going to happen.  And watching all 8 episodes of Stranger Things was so totally romantical, because its our thing to watch shows together.  The fact he was so into this one just made me smile the whole time ♥)

When midnight came, I exclaimed, “HAPPY NEW YEAR, BABY!” And she did the same as I proceeded to set off all the fireworks I had set up earlier. These were a mix between my MadPea Fireworks I had from 2016 as well as my {damani} – Fireworks deLuxe from back in 2014 lol. While we were smiling and celebrating our first New Year together, I turned off the transparency of my written proposal in the sky to let it finally be shown. The proposal said, “Will You Marry Me, Livvy?” in all cool sparklers effect to sort of blend in a bit with the fireworks.  (What he is leaving out here is that I didn’t actually seeee the message at first.  It was a blur in the sky, and I thought I broke my av for a moment so I zoomed in, thinking that I could totally fix it .. but that didn’t happen so I zoomed way out and it came clear what the message was and it confused me a bit because I was so not expecting this.  I hit the escape key and back to my av my camera flew and there was Caleb on one knee!!!!)

Will You Marry Me, Livvy | Mine & Yours

We have been on voice this entire time and when I heard her give notice to the image that was coming in for her, I got down on one knee, waiting for her to finally realize what was happening. I was proposing to her and I started saying the following to her on voice:

Livvy Fhang, I met you in 2014. Started dating you in 2015. We went our separate ways but found each other again in 2017. While together, you have made me an incredibly happy man with you back in my life. Ever since the day our paths crossed again, I’ve been smiling ever since… and incredibly in love with you. 2018 is here and I want us to start our new chapter together. I’ve been waiting for this day – this very day… the first day of the year, as I want to start the new year with you as mine in every way. Livvy… will you do me the honor of letting me be your husband? Will you marry me?

(He totally made a typo in that proposal … but I am not going to share it because it should be perfect the way he wanted … even if he wasn’t nervous, I still say he was, that voice that he loves to think was sooo confident I could hear the slight shake, but shhh, he was all man when asking me everything)

While I was telling her how much she has meant to me and how happy she has made me, I could hear the happiness in her silence as she listened. Yes, her silence has a voice – just like how you can hear someone smile… or choke back feelings of elation… or even tears of happiness. I was beaming the entire time and then as I finished my words, a resounding, “YES!” from her lips. My goodness how happy it made me to hear her say that… and how happy it made me to hear her happiness as well.  (I mean I waited a really long time to get this question from him.  Then again he is so slow with things, always wanting them perfect.  Though we were a bit backwards in how we did this.  Most of our plans were already planned minus the asking part.  Which most couples dont do until asked?  But we arent your average couple, we are us and we know how we tend to work, it was a matter of time before it happened anyways.  And he did it in the most perfect way.  I am just impatient and always will be. How he deals with me and still put a ring on it … amazes me!

I love this woman so damn much (I love you too, baby). I can’t wait for so much many more moments and memories to share and create together. Happy New Year, indeed! We’re engaged! (And I am not letting go for one moment, you are stuck with me!)

MadPea’s Magical Christmas Hunt Experience & Prizes

The MadPea Christmas Hunt is coming to an end on December 28th (today), and what a wonderful ride it has been! I’ve got some awesome sims and amazing prizes to share with you! Unlike my previous blog posts about the MadPea Christmas Hunt, this one is more a reflective written journey that is filled with my personal experiences and feedback.

I wish I could say I did the MadPea Christmas Hunt every day to show you all the neat places I visited through the entire duration of the hunt. But truth-be-told, between RL Christmas gatherings and SL Christmas gatherings, I was a busy body! However, during my free time, I did visit a few places to take some pictures and here was my magical Christmas adventure:

My MadPea Magical Christmas Hunt Adventure

Day 1  – Malaika Park

Malaika Park | Mine & Yours

I came across this serene and cozy winter sim called Malaika Park. “Welcome to Winter At Malaika Park!” I am greeted. To my pleasure, this beautiful, open ice skating area with a cute cozy winter lodge up above overlooking the lovely scene is also open to rez! A photographer’s dream as I start to rez poses and light prims. But then as I was busy setting up, I saw my love playing around with her skates and zipping by. How beautiful and natural everything was. Immediately I just start deleting all my equipment and snap natural shot of Livvy in the background skating with the entire sim for her as a playground. It was a gorgeous sight in its purest form, as intended – natural. This place was a hidden gem for me and I’ll be bringing my family here for some more ice skating and sledding fun.

Day 2 – Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland | Mine & Yours

A crowd favorite, Winter Wonderland at The Forest sim is a lovely delight. With snowy paths with the familiar crunch upon steps to jingling in the distance and bells of the trolley. Sigh – such cozy paradise! I absolutely love this place. There are so many spots to explore and take pictures, but my favorite image was seeing the trolley go through a tunnel of Christmas lights. There’s just something so endearing and familiar about that image that I had to capture it.

Winter Wonderland owners Alexis Wilson (lexxihudson Resident) and Mark Wilson (exde Resident) even provide vacation lodging for those who would like to stay to enjoy the winter beauty of this wonderland. Each cabin includes a private hot tub, picnic area, bbq and firepit. There are five rentable cabins on the sim, and there is already a waitlist! The sim will stay winter season until end of February so I hope my family will be able to stay here for a week before the season turns to spring/summer camping.

Day 3 – Norelia Island

Norelia Island | Mine & Yours

Livvy to me, “Let’s make our land look something like this, baby!” Me, a dutiful husband in the making, “Okay, my love.”

Norelia Island is gorgeous in its natural beauty. Identifying as a Mediterranean island, Norelia Island was a welcomed warm paradise after visiting snowy sims after snowy sims. But the lush, enchanting green meeting deep, majestic blue is something Livvy and I both love very much. This photo above is merely a small corner of what this island has to offer, but this very exact spot drew me instantly. What a perfect view with the perfect woman in my lap. This spot right here is my secret oasis.

If you also took pictures at Norelia Island, share them to their Flickr group here: https://www.flickr.com/groups/noelia_island/

Day 4 – The Isle

The Isle Toys | Mine & Yours

The Isle was a treasure trove for toys. Toys galore! All clumped in one witty spot – The Grinch’s Stash. Very cute and such a visual delight for all MadPea Hunters involved, no wonder this place was a top favorite! However… this area was not why I chose to feature The Isle. It was the alluring landscape surrounding The Grinch’s Stash that made me fall in love with it.

The Isle | Mine & YoursThe Isle 2 | Mine & Yours

Home to S Δ j i Δ h (Sajiah Viper), The Isle is enchanting and magical. This charming sim could have been easily overlooked, but slow down – take your time and look around. What beauty surrounds you! No edits involved, this was how I saw The Isle, and it was breathtaking.

“Though in ruins, the heart will always call it home.” – Sajiah Viper, The Isle

Because this is a personal home, I am uncertain how long this gorgeous place will remain open to public. However, Sajiah was very kind in allowing me to photograph and feature her home in this blog. You can also check out Sajiah Viper’s talented photography here:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/sajiahviper/

Day 5 – End StreetEnd Street | Mine & YoursEnd Street 2 | Mine & Yours

End Street is advertised as a hotel and voyeur adult hangout where there are “Free hotel rooms and wifi.” Truth be told, I just like how the scene looks. The questionable hotel rooms decorated with kinky adult furniture definitely add personality to this shady street, but I like it. It is intriguing and confusing at the same time, but I love the edgy raw-ness the place exudes. Beautiful is a subjective word. I think End Street is beautiful in its own way.

So that wraps up my MadPea Christmas Hunt traveling adventure! It was a lot of fun for me, and I absolutely loved taking these snapshots whenever I saw something I wanted to capture in the moment. I’d love to see or hear about other people’s favorite sims.

My Personal (positive and negative) Feedback – Changes MadPea made from their last hunts:

1. No more competitive cash 🙁

For this hunt, it seems that the Top 5 Hunters (generous) cash reward from the Halloween Hunt has been done away with, as well as the daily cash reward for the Top 3 Hunters we saw in the Summer Hunt. Instead points were given out.

1000 Points to 1st place
500 Points to 2nd place
300 Points to 3rd place

Top 3 Team White MadPea Christmas Hunt | Mine & Yours
Holy cow! I had no idea that I ranked for team white until I was scrolling the website to fact check hunt info for this blog post!

I’m a bit disappointed in this change because as far as we know, there is a hard cap as to how useful points can be in the hunt system, especially for those who already have enough points to redeem all prizes. The incentive for points does not seem really enticing, especially if the top hunters are already racking up a lot of points already. The points to prize ratio is, at face value, not worth compared to the amount of effort it takes to be in the top three places. To put it into perspective, the starter (least expensive) prizes are 500 points. 3rd place winner wouldn’t even be able to snag an extra starter prize if they wanted to. I’d suggest MadPea gift cards or credits instead.

2. Cute Variety of Hunt Items

The Summer Hunt and Halloween Hunt items (seashells and apparitions) were dull compared to the cute toys for the Christmas Hunt. I feel this makes the hunt more of a visual treat, as it is a nice surprise to see all sorts of adorable enchanted toys going crazy. The different kinds of robots are my favorite. They are so adorable and nicely made that I wish I could have them as toy decor under the Christmas tree or for stocking stuffers!

3. Hunting Gear

This time around, we can ride in style as we hunt! All hunters can purchase optional Christmas sleighs that spread a little magic as you hunt for the enchanted toys. At the back of the sleigh will be a number that represents how many toys you have captured, and once the toy is found, it will appear at the back of your sleigh! The sleighs are also texture change so you can wear your team color, if you wanted to. There is also a magical candy cane wand that interacts with the toys as you find them.

HOWEVER… Raise your hand if you had the Effective Liberating Flight Squad (E.L.F.S.) in mind from The Santa Clause movie with Tim Allen? *raises hand* No optional outfits this time around, which was a bit of a bummer. I would have loved a cute jumpsuit with cute Christmas badges and motifs sewn on it, as well as a cute jet pack. So instead, I created my own not-as-cute-as-I-would-have-liked look with various accessories. Unfortunately that means I wasn’t decked out in MadPea products like last time, which is a shame because MadPea makes some really awesome stuff.

4. Radar

I loved the Halloween Ghost Hunt radar – it was compact, visually appealing, and fit the theme. This one I am on the fence about. Let’s start with the new.

  • Favorite Button – This seems to function only as a voting button to vote for your favorite sims, letting MadPea collect all hunter’s votes when the ‘favorite’ a sim. Then, top 10 sims selected by all hunters so far are placed here on their website. Initially, I thought it would also store locations of your (personal) favorite sims, eliminating the need to create Landmarks. Unfortunately, that function does not exist (yet!).
  • Counter that tracks each type of hunt item collected – This seems to be more for the achievements that can be obtained for the more hardcore MadPea players wanting to rank in the MadPea Player Portal. Check your standings here.
  • Window Toggle to display prizes that have been unlocked – An interesting addition to the HUD. It seems this notification window pops up instead of pushing group notices through. It is nice to see right on the screen what prizes have been unlocked. Though I wish there was a scrolling option to see more of the unlocked prizes besides just the most recent one.

Missed Opportunities:

  • Favorite Button – Would love if the HUD could store a hunter’s personal favorite sims so they can come back to the sim at the click of a button.
  • Hunt HUD Radar size – It seems minimizing the HUD’s real estate on the screen was not an intention. This thing takes up quite a bit of room when opened. The horizontal bar that stays at the top of the screen is clunky. I’d rather the section that displays the numbers be an expandable cartridge, similar to the existing window toggle for the prize display window. Having the numbers take the room and always be displayed on the screen makes me feel more like a goblin at Gringotts Wizarding Bank than an elf.
  • Underwhelming HUD visual design – Compared to the Halloween Hunt Radar, this Christmas one feels rather lackluster. For a magical celebration such as Christmas, I don’t feel much holiday spirit when I put this HUD on.
  • Skipping location option – Would be nice to have the option to remove a location from my random TP list. I am not sure how the scripting or algorithm works, but I kept getting the same three sims over and over again that I intentionally wanted to avoid (even though I had a lot of other sims I have not visited).

5. Awesome Prizes!

I loved the prizes this time around. I felt like there was something for everyone. Even if all of the prizes did not appeal to you, I am sure at least one of them would have been a great addition to your avi or home (especially during the Christmas season!). If you haven’t already, check out my other posts here and here to see what some of the MadPea Christmas Hunt prizes are. All prizes are also showcased on the MadPea Christmas Hunt Website as well as their Facebook page.

MadPea Toy Factory | Mine & Yours

I wanted to end my coverage of this awesome MadPea Christmas Hunt with their final prize: The Toy Factory. It is 99 LI. Featuring one furnace with a door you can open or close. The fire within can be lit with a simple click. Two functioning conveyors operate at the crank of each lever. The MadPea Christmas Hunt Toys then rez and move down the conveyor belt similar to that of an assembly line.

If you are like me, you would immediately be thinking something along the lines of this:

[real-time reaction below]
Caleb: … It rezzes the MadPea Hunt toys!!! I’m just gonna take the toys out of the conveyor belt prim and rez them all along the assembly line!
*edit linked parts, copy toys over to inventory*
*proceeds to rez all the toys out one by one*
Caleb: So cute! I can’t wait to place these all out an-
*notices the toys start disappearing one by one*
*realizes the toys are temp rez and no mod*
Caleb: NOOOOOOOoooooOOOOoooo

TLDR: MadPea Toys in the Toy Factory are temp rez. Foiled!
